This course offers opportunities for parents, home care givers, and preschool teachers to participate in activities that promote literacy. The question is “HOW”? Participates will engage in activities to learn how to read a story and learn the parts of a book. Participants will:

• Increase their knowledge of school readiness scientifically based reading research
• Participate in activities for children related to stimulating their imagination, increase vocabulary, motivate reading experiences, promote self-concept, and develop a life long love for books
• Relate literacy activities to reading
